Own Your Own Happiness

It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it. Happiness is the interval between periods of unhappiness.We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.Life indeed is a roller coaster ride filled with uncertainty but one thing you can guarantee is shielding your happiness. You control your emotions and not the other way round. In the end, it always narrows down to you and how you deal with the setbacks.

You should not try to hold on to happiness but enjoy it in the moment. The struggle you face will result in your growth and you can draw strength from that. This is an inspiring poem by Chanie Gorkin. Some days it can be tough to see the good in life, but as this poem proves, some times you just need to flip things in your head. Metaphorically, of course.

Today was the absolute worst day ever

And don’t try to convince me that

 There’s something good in every day

 Because, when you take a closer look,

 This world is a pretty evil place.

 Even if

 Some goodness does shine through once in a while

 Satisfaction and happiness don’t last.

 And it’s not true that

 It’s all in the mind and heart

 Because

 True happiness can be attained

 Only if one’s surroundings are good

 It’s not true that good exists

 I’m sure you can agree that

 The reality

 Creates

 My attitude

 It’s all beyond my control

 And you’ll never in a million years hear me say

 Today was a very good day

Now read it from bottom to top, the other way, And see what the day really feels like.Everything is contingent on how you wish to perceive it. A rich man can be the poorest and the poorest man can still be the richest.The magnitude of happiness is independent of the number of zeros to the right in your bank balance.When you smile, your emotions will follow.You are the boss over your emotions, and you can not only rule over how you feel but also actually dictate your body how to react.Create your own happiness to manifest your dreams faster.
